September 2010 I will be at the Callander Poetry Festival (Callander Bookshop, 91-5 Main Street 3rd to5th September), where I will be among those reading - thirty poets have signed up so far and there will be many more- and also leading a workshop on the Scottish-Irish connection. This festival is run every year thanks to the hard work and generous hspitality of Sally Evans and her husband Ian King, and all events are free.
April 2010 My poem Rushlight was one of the runners-up in the James Kirkup Memorial competition, and will be included in the anthology of the competition, which will be published by Red Squirrel Press. I will be among those reading at the award ceremony in South Shields Public Library on 23rd April, at 7.30pm.
February 2010 On 14th February I will be taking part in Poetry at the GRV Guthrie Street Edinburgh, 7.45-9.45pm
October 2009 My poem Sean Nos will appear in Issue 23 of Brittle Star, to be launched at Keats House, London at 7pm, 7th October.

June 2009 The poem Goes Without Saying: The Languages of Nicaragua was commended in the 2009 Neil Gunn Writing Competition organised by The Highland Council
January 2009 The site has been updated; some new poetry has been added, and the links have been refurbished.
Four poems were published by Northwords Now, the free literary broadsheet based in Inverness. It can be picked up at most libraries in Scotland, and many bookshops throughout the Highlands. Elizabeth will be reading at the Poetry in the Garden Festival in Callander from 4th-7th September. For details see: Welcome to Poetry Scotland.co.uk Elizabeth launched the Lúcháir (Irish for 'delight') project. It will run over two years, incorporating poems and stories on the theme of the environment, and collaborating with other artists in all genres and art forms. Eurydice Rising, a sequence of poems based on the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, appeared in Poetry Scotland. It was influenced by the way the story was developed in the northern traditions of Brittany, England and Shetland, and has alternative endings. The site has had a reveamp, with a new Home Page and Biography, and new Poetry, Fiction and Reviews for you to read. There are some new links for your interest as well. Elizabeth is currently working away on various projects. Elizabeth will be at the Poetry in the Garden Festival Reviews and new poetry will appear in Northwords Now Look out for Don't Look Now a new polics and cultural economy magazine which will be available this autumn. It is run by two enterprising young people, an art dealer and a student from London, and sounds like a varied and interesting read.It will include Elizabeth's poem "The Green Cliffs of Moher."
